From the Parish Council – November 2024

Parish Clerk – The good news is that Chris Barron has agreed to resume the position of Parish Clerk. The Clerk is fundamental to the efficient running of the Parish Council. Thanks for returning Chris. We still have a vacancy for a Parish Councillor. If you would like any further information on the role or feel that you can contribute, please get in touch.

Emergency Plan – Further good news is that our NYC Councillor, Annabel Wilkinson, has secured funding to pay for the generator connector to the village hall. This will enable SPC to implement the Emergency Plan. Thank you once again Annabel for your support. If anyone else wishes to be included in the call out for the emergency plan and haven’t registered with us, please let us know your phone number and we can add you to the list of responders.

The Cricket Club – have arranged for the drainpipe under the cricket field from Ham Hall Lane to be jetted and a new inspection hatch fitted. This should alleviate the flooding issues to the Playing Fields, Allotments and Tennis Court. It is envisaged that the work will be completed by the end of the month.

Village Green – Further to last month’s item about the bald patches under trees on the village green, we would welcome suggestions or advice on how to remedy the problem. Is there an alternative that could be planted under the trees that would thrive, or a different type of grass?  If anyone has any ideas or knowledge in this regard, please contact one of the Councillors or the Clerk.
