Safari Supper Success!

This year was the 21st anniversary of the Safari Supper in Scruton. A wonderful evening of wining, dinning and good company was enjoyed by 66 people. Many gathered in the Coore Arms afterwards for further merriment and the traditional highlight of the night – Richard Meeres’ entertaining speech!
Organiser Karen Long said: “I would like to thank everyone who participated and those who gave generous donations.” The Safari Supper began with 36 people in 1999 to raise money for the Village Millennium Party. It proved so popular that it became an annual event. Over 90 couples have been involved over the years and thousands of pounds raised for local charities, or charities that have helped Scruton villagers.

This year the evening raised £450 for the Hambleton & Richmondshire Motor Neurone Disease Association. If you would like to be involved in the future, contact Karen for further details by email: karenrachel69@gmail.com
