Noticeboards
Parish Council noticeboards are located at the village hall and on the village green. A public-access noticeboard is located in the bus shelter opposite Pittfields Corner.
Scruton Information Signboard
A ‘Thankful Village’ signboard located on the village green near the Church, tells the story of Scruton from its ancient origins through to it becoming a Thankful Village.
Nature Notes – July 2023
Recently I walked up Meeth Gill just west of Reeth to the Old Gang Smelt Mills to see how many species of upland birds I could find, especially summer migrants.

I write this on the day after Scruton Fest. When I returned home, I checked the sheep because I had a nagging feeling that something was wrong.
Gardeners’ World – July 2023
After a very dry month, at last a drop of rain, although we need more. Some plants have done well and the roses have been spectacular with more flowers than usual, although they haven’t lasted long in the heat.

Scruton Fest was a roaring success last weekend, thanks to the Fest Crew (SPFA) and everyone who supported and participated in the event in any way.
